RESIDENCE IN TRASTEVERE
Vicolo Moroni 35-36
The "Trastevere Residence" (1st class) is a small mansion (Vicolo Moroni n° 35/36) of the XVII century, once the lodging of old Roman families who lived in the eight apartments presently transformed in as many elegant suites where the old outlook was conserved as much as possible. Thus original plan the size, the ironworks, the old beams, the small main doors in massive decorated wood were kept.
A special care was taken in furnishing. It was preferred to turn to authentic handy craft rather than the cold product of industry. The floors paved with band decorated tiles; several pieces of furniture imitate old Roman originals. The blankets are hand loom woven.
The curtains give a romantic light to the rooms. The white walls are the background of drawings made by well known artists. For instance the sketches of Dosmo the scene designer of Luca Ronconi.
Other works of italian and foreign artists decorate the walls of parts in common in the mansion. The windows are equipped with double panels to keep a comfortable temperature. All the appliance in each suite are new. Each is equipped with a house-phone, a telephone, a TV set, a kitchenette complete with a steel washstand, a granite slab, kitchen and dining table.
